Worldwide earthquakes since 1954

The seismological earthquake catalogue published since 1954 by NEIC (National Earthquake Information Centre) of the USGS (United States Geological Survey) contains more than 500,000 seismic events.

This database was prepared using seismological parameters defined by the seismic registrations of earthquake stations around the whole world – also including the stations operated in Germany – and which are forwarded to the global data centre in Boulder, Colorado. These reports are used to calculate the co-ordinates of the epicentre, origin time, hypocentre depth, and other parameters, which are recorded in the catalogue.
