Catalogues and bulletins of Earthquakes in Germany

Earthquakes in Germany and adjacent areas are published in the Data Catalogue of Earthquakes in Germany and Adjacent Areas. It includes source and station parameter of all earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.0 and more appraised by the different German and International seismological institutions. 

BGR compiles these earthquake parameters first in a common preliminary monthly data catalogue und afterwards in a final annual catalogue. 

This data catalogue is the basis for the publishing of a seismological bulletin Earthquakes in Germany. The regional reports of the German observatories concerning highlighted earthquake are compiled therein.

Data Catalogues of Earthquakes in Germany and Adjacent Areas

The mentioned earthquake parameters are explained in the format description (PDF, 21 KB) for all catalogues up to and including 2003. From 2004 on, the catalogues are made in the international standardized format ,IMS1.0' (PDF, 10 KB). The destination of hypocentre of the different institutions is indicated according to their priority. The solution with the highest priority is mentioned in the last bold line and will be used as reference for the calculation of the station parameters.
