TReMin – Networking and Transfer Project within the BMBF Programme ReMin

Country / Region: Germany/World

Begin of project: January 1, 2021

End of project: December 31, 2024

Status of project: June 30, 2021

The project TReMin is part of the funding measure “ReMin” that aims to improve resource efficiency in the building sector and to improve mineral material cycles for a circular economy within the framework programme “Research for Sustainable Development (FONA)” of the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The BMBF is funding 17 collaborative research projects with stakeholders from industry and science with the principle goal to drive forward circular economy in Germany.

The research of the projects funded by ReMin is focused on construction in the circular economy and mineral material cycles of construction residues, ashes and slags from municipal waste combustion and the steel industry as well as mining wastes.

Within TReMin, which is headed by the CUTEC Institute of the TU Clausthal, BGR and Fraunhofer IWKS examine the potential of the funded projects, particularly regarding their contributions to reduce primary raw materials.

TReMin aims to induce networking and to support transfer of results within ReMin and beyond. BGR is contributing to all main work packages within TReMin and is heading the work package on identifying and evaluating the transfer potential and on its dissemination on the national and European level. To achieve this, the partners will also utilize the German Resource Research Institute GERRI, which is coordinated by BGR.
